Well I had to work and I haven’t been out in the stand in about a week and I had to work that day and that morning I had 15 videos from the cellular camera and it was this big 8 point I’ve only seen 5 times once in early September and 1 time in October and November 18 on the camera at 730 am and 115pm so we finished the job at 130 so I called my sons mother asked if I could pick him up later and she said yeah and I flew home hopped in the shower and got insulation off me and got dressed and on my way to the property I went, I got into the stand at 315 and was looking around didn’t see any, so I broke out the little Debbie’s and started eating them till after I finished my Swiss roll I stand up and look and there’s a buck behind me walking and stops and I see a doe right there next to him already bedded up and I couldn’t tell if it was him or not but I knew it was big and had a really big body so he stay starring at me for about 8 mins and then finally decided to bed down next to the doe and I waited to for a open shot, so he gave me one and so I shot I thought missed him so I re-racked a shell with the 450 bushmaster and seen him starting to run and I shot and hit him and he dropped behind some tree and at that time I still wasn’t sure it was him but I called my friend Dan Vandyke and told him I think I shot a really nice buck and he flew to get to the property to help look and within those 15 minutes I thought man it may have not been him but it sure was a nice buck, well dan arrives finally and we are walking and fan gets up to him first and see him doesn’t say a word and all I see are hoof and legs and he was leaning behind a huge tree and so I didn’t see yet and I was scared because fan wasn’t saying anything so I prepared myself for w.e it could be so I closed my eyes and walked past the big tree and I seen this big ol boy and man it was the buck on cam that morning and afternoon and dans says man you got a stud he’s a toad and man I didn’t even know what to say or if this was even real but I put a lot of hrs and sweat an blood & tears but I finally did it and man what such a good feeling after all that time, especially not seeing deer for about a week straight.. but I got the big boy I call (Realtree)… why you ask, if you look at his rack over top of him, his rack is identical to the realtree logo… but there’s my story…
