I had this guy quartering away from me from 220 yards. My dad has the 450 so all I had was my 12 gauge. However the barrel is rifled and the scope has 5 sights. I put the bottom circle on him and let it rip. I was shaking so bad when I shot I thought I missed him. He didn’t move at first then kind of just walked away. I sat for another 45 minutes mad at myself for attempting a long shot with that gun. I got up to check for blood figuring he was long gone. I came around the corner of a blueberry row and there he lay 20 yards from where I shot! I literally put my hands up and screamed! This is the second mature deer I have taken this year from the same spot. His spread was 20 inches. I still can’t believe that gun will shoot that far with that barrel and scope on it. Extremely blessed to harvest this deer. I showed my dad the shot and he thinks I’m crazy 😂 what an excited year of hunting. My dad and I have passed on so many 1.5-2.5 year old 8 points this year just trying to get a mature buck and boy did it pay off. All tagged out now and couldn’t be more greatful!
