The hunt started out pretty rough and I was late getting into a good piece of state land with my climber but after finally getting set up I gave it 30 minutes and then let out 3 short grunts followed by a quick rattle sequence 5 minutes later. Within the next couple minutes, I heard something heavy walking in and out popped this stud! Was able to get an arrow in him at 27 yards but wasn’t 100% confident in the shot placement. I waited for my buddies to get out there to start tracking but I was under the impression that I was bumping him up and pushing him. Got ahold of Michigan Committed Deer Tracking this morning and Darrell and his dog were there to help! Big thank you to my buddy Carter and a huge shoutout to MCDT for all their help on harvesting such a beautiful public land buck!
