I was hunting with my dad, we decided to sit where we sat last minute. I have been hunting for a lot of years and never got anything I passed on a lot of small bucks but I finally got my first deer! About 10:00am we spotted him, he began to walk in front of us at 40 yards we whistled at him and he stopped looked up and I took the shot, He ran 20 yards and dropped. I shot him with a browning 7mm-08. We got up to him and then realized he was missing an eye, his leg was swollen, 2 points were broken off, and he was missing patches of fur. He was pretty beaten up! I am so thankful that this was my first deer!
