It’s the last day of rifle season and a buddy and I are trying our luck at some public land tracking. We got on a few deer earlier in the day but were never presented with a shot. We decided to separate on a ridge system for the last couple hours of shooting light. Around 4:45 PM I heard my friend fire a couple shots and I started making my way along the bottom of the ridge towards where I heard the shots when I caught motion on the side hill about 120 yds in front of me. I looked down the scope and saw it was a great buck. I was able to get the crosshairs on his shoulder and dropped him in his tracks! Great way to close out my 2025 season!
