My slump is over! Shot this beauty last night from my tree stand! It was quite the adventure to say the least. First I was teased by our target buck on the property a beautiful 9 point that I couldn’t get a shot on. I grunted at him and he decided going to check out the Does out front was more important. The rest of the night, Bucks were chasing does all around me but none of them would come close enough and I was starting to get discouraged as night was creeping in. Finally some does were feeding in front of me and a younger 8 pt started to come in but I wasn’t sure I wanted to shoot him I had my bow up and ready then in the corner of my eye saw this buck (7pt, was a 8 until breaking off one) creeping in staring right at me. As soon as he spotted the younger buck he forgot about me and went after him to chase him off. I stopped him and made a nice 20 yard shot! He went about 45 yards and died. Awesome hunt!
