After 4 days of southeast winds it finally shifted, and i was able to setup close to his bedding. Had a group of does come through fast around 8. I then did a calling sequence consisting of a couple soft grunts followed by a snortwheeze. He came out with his ears pinned back looking for a fight, he found a 285 grain powerbelt instead.
