I didn’t have a babysitter for my 1.5 year old son last night so I just took him to the redneck blind with me. I was fully expecting to not see a single deer as he was having fun stomping around, throwing his baseball at the walls and driving his tractor up the windows. He was making as much noise as possible but he was being so good! All of a sudden a small doe wandered in and I snapped a picture of her and sent it to the family group message with the caption “she must be deaf haha.” 10 minutes later, I see this giant step out right where the doe came from. My son must have sensed my anxiety because he flipped a switch and started getting whiny 🤦‍♀️ long story short, while trying to keep him occupied with tractor videos and snacks, this buck slowly feeds over to my shooting lane and stood broadside staring at the blind. I couldn’t open a window yet because my son was not happy and I was sure that this buck would spook or wonder off before I got a chance at him. I FINALLY got my son settled down by dumping all his snacks on the blind floor, got a window open and took a 40 yard shot after 5-7 minutes of this deer just staring at us. Im not sure why he stood there as long as he did without spooking but I’m grateful!
