Slid into my spot just afternoon, just after 5 caught some movement off to my right, stood up in my stand to get a better look and saw a doe working her way down a trail coming in front of me. Looked further to the right and there he was, staring right at me eye to eye. The doe cut back along the ridge top and as he turned to follow I let the 450 eat he ran to his right 20 yards and stopped facing directly away from me, tail just a spinning in circles. He turned broadside and I fired again, lost him behind some thick brush. Walked to where I thought he was when I shot the first time and couldn’t find anything started working my way toward the side he was standing on after the shot looked to my right and there he was. Such an exciting evening. My biggest buck to date.
