First deer!!!
We had a group of does come in early and I asked Kennedy if she wanted to shoot the big one. She said yeah, but let’s wait a bit and see if a buck comes in. Eventually the does wandered off, but we heard a stick break 20 minutes later. A small doe ran in about 60 yards away.
Soon after, my son Lincoln was sitting with us and said “big buck dad”! The buck started walking nervously and quickly about 40yds from us in the woods. Kennedy couldn’t get a clean shot, but fortunately he started heading right at us. We had just practiced this exact scenario. He came within 15 yards, turned broadside, and she made a perfect shot!!! Proud dad moment, cool to have big brother there as well!!!
