After at least 2 years of chasing the buck we called the “Big 9” it finally all came together. I had no plans of hunting that evening and headed out to change my trail camera batteries and figured i would sit for the last hour of daylight. As soon as I sat down the farmer started discing the field and I almost left, luckily he finished a half hour before dark. Almost immediately a bunch of small bucks started chasing does and out came the “Big 9” chasing the smaller bucks off the property. 2 minutes before end of shooting time he hit a scrape 2 yards away behind a bush. He got downwind 5 yards away and went to run but a smaller 8 point ran up to try and fight him while he was broadside 7 yards away. I took the shot and he went down 50 yards later.
