My brother called at 6 a.m. and said he was on the way to my house for me to take my dad and him hunting. I did a quick weather and wind check and set my dad up in a good spot along a clearing and walked my brother to a ladder stand in some thick bedding. I then drove to a bow spot in the area that i had a climber attached. I kicked a deer up walking in at 650. then at about 730, noticed i am right under a huge flock of turkeys. after they flew down, i did some calling. not 5 minutes later, i looked to my right and a one antlered buck was walking right to me and walked right pass at 10 yards headed to some oaks. i opted to pass hoping for a target buck i had in the area. About 30 minutes later I grunted and immediately heard grunting to where the 1 antlered buck went. I was slowly standing up to see if maybe it was a new buck when out of the thick pines 40 yards in front of me , i see a decent rack walking fast looking. i slowly sat back down and stopped it in a opening and shot. it piled up in 50 yards. I picked my brother and father up to get on the track. After some story telling and picture taking, i went to gut and noticed it was a doe and not a buck. That explains its sleeker neck and odd body to the rack. Needless to say, it was a first for me and glad my Father and brother were able to be apart of this one.
