Got a late start that morning but that was ok, I was still going to have a good time. Didn’t expect to see a whole lot but love just going to sit. I lost my dad 6 years ago and just went and got his deer rifle to start hunting with. Wasn’t sittin long and seen 3 doe just walking around then seen movement out of the corner of my eye. Was just a small herd of doe and a little unicorn spike. Was watching them for a few in the binoculars and took them down. Checked around the other areas I could see and turned back to the herd and noticed a different buck. Looked through the binos and wouldn’t ya know it there was a new buck and he was a beaut. Heart started racing got my gun up, calmed my self down (for the most part, you know how buck fever works) and he turned south a little and was heading away diagonally and I said to myself it’s now or never. Slowly squeezed the trigger and he dropped in his tracks!!! 254 yards, 1 shot and he was done. Dad would be proud!!
