Been hunting morning and night with only seeing a little 6 point, a spike, and some does. I wasn’t going to go out tonight but my husband had to work late so why not go out and sit. I didn’t see anything all night until about 6:05 I spotted him across the hay field about 175 yards out. He turned and headed straight for me. I didn’t have my crossbow up and ready so of course my heart starts racing and I’m trying to not get caught getting ready. Well then he spotted me about 45 yards out. He stopped head on to me, smelled me and as soon as he slowly turned away to take off I let the arrow fly. I waited a little while to get down. Called my husband and he was just getting home. Big Buck Down. He came out back and we started tracking, I didn’t like the amount of blood I was seeing so we backed out. We went up had dinner and decided to go back out about an hour later. We started tracking again and knew he couldn’t be far. He went about 150 yards and there he lied. First ever bow season buck. Not the best shot ever he just had turned to run. The arrow was poking out the other side too
