Saw him the day before but couldn’t get him to come in. Decided I was going to get out there and get my decoys up before daylight. After 4 hours and not seeing one single Turkey I almost called it a day then all of a sudden I started seeing hens popping up all over the place. All of a sudden he comes out and so does another Tom following 6 hens. I thought that they were going the opposite way following the majority of the hens and then about 5 minutes later I hear something walking right next to my blind it was a hen checking out my decoys. Then I heard another but sounded bigger but couldn’t see anything so when the hen went back I turned around to look out the small back window to see where she went and there within 3 feet of my blind was this guy. I had to slowly stand up to get the window open and get my barrel out the window without him seeing me. Thank goodness he turned to face the other way and when he picked his head up I let the lead fly. Still in disbelief that he was right there so close. A morning hunt I will never forget!!
