I made it out later than I wanted to on opening day. By the time I got settled into my blind it was 7:15 am. There were already 20 or so deer in the field. I started scanning deer with my binoculars, mostly does, with 3 little bucks. No shooters. Then out of the woods to my left came a running doe, followed by what I knew was a shooter. He didn’t give me a shot till he was headed into the woods straight ahead of me. I took the shot and he only ran about 30 yrds. Not 5 minutes later I see deer coming out of the woods on my right, two does followed by the other buck. Finally gave me a shot, standing 20 feet from where I hit the first one, at 320 yards. He dropped, right where he was standing. I couldn’t have asked for a better opening morning.
