I watched him descend to my left after a doe passed through. He made a fresh scrape. As he began walking out of the brush towards me, I noticed a second, smaller buck approaching behind him. The two bucks started to square up, but then the doe ran away. The bucks moved a bit, then began walking towards each other. I grunted at him and managed to stop him in my shooting lane. I let him have it at 13 yards, he didn’t run 30 yards before taking his last breath. The G5 mega meats made a red carpet right to him. I didn’t immediately get down because the second buck returned and started looking around, and smelled the arrow. I could have tagged out in one night, but I decided to pass on the second buck.
