I got into my stand around 4 o’clock, so was kind of running late. I was feeling a little discouraged being. I made a bad shot on a little eight point the night before. Could never find it or any blood. But my uncle talked me into going out being the season’s almost done and I have yet to get a buck this year. And in reality it’s been 17 years. Since I have shot a buck. So with the season coming to an end and me not being able to find the deer I shot Saturday night I went out last night. My son was supposed to go, but last minute he decided he didn’t want to. He said it was too cold for him. So after about 15 minutes of being in the stand, I look up over the Bayshore. And I see the White horns walking about 100 yards away. I only seen him at first for a few minutes, and then he disappeared in the cattail weeds, heading in the direction of another one on my stand. So I sat there contemplating if I should get down and run over to the other stand and try to cut them off. To say the least I’m glad I didn’t get down and go to the other stand because he came right back roughly 10 minutes later. I watched them for over 20 minutes walking around in the Bayshore before he got close enough for me to shoot him. I shot him at roughly 25 yards. I made a great shot on this one. Took out both lungs and the heart he didn’t go 20. I am beyond grateful and blessed to have the opportunities I have in order to hunt. Seven points with a 12 inch spread.
