After buying my house last year with a nice 40 acre piece on it I was excited to see what deer season had to offer. It didn’t disappoint as I had plenty of buck action and found this deer I named g2 I chased him last year knowing he was the biggest buck around. Fast forward through the year I hunted hard learned the property and never got to even shoot a buck off there last year but I knew g2 had survived the season. So over the summer I worked endlessly to reshape the land and put in three food plots as well as create a lot of bedding to keep this deer around. As this year rolled around I had cameras out early and no sign until October and there he was bigger and better then last year and still alive. I knew that he was going to be even smarter then last year so I went through endless amounts of scent control and sat patiently waiting to see how he wanted to play it out. That’s when I got a picture sent to me of him in the daylight and I was thinking okay I got to get out tonight he was behind a doe maybe he will come back out again and sure enough I was right. At 3 I get a notification that he’s out there again and here I am just leaving work so I decided “screw it” he was chasing a doe I better sneak in there and so I did and luckily for me I got in just in time to watch 4 spikes come in then an 8 point and a couple doe and that’s when I seen him sneaking through the woods and well then the rest was history. What a cool buck and what a first buck to get off the property.
