I had a shot at this guy days before with my crossbow but missed, shooting right underneath him. I felt defeated especially not seeing anything opening day, but I decided last minute to head out Thursday evening at 5 p.m. 20 minutes later two does comes out of the woods & here he comes right after them. I shot him at about 30 yards. He has so much bark on his antler from making rubs. Redemption!!
