Sat in a fence row for the morning hunt. On the walk back to the truck, I decided to check out a grassy side hill in a big bean field. As I crept up over the hill, I spotted his tines rising out of the grass. I dropped to my stomach, ripped off my pack and heavy coat. I belly crawled to the edge of the grass, and got up in a sitting position. I whistled once and he just turned his head. I whistled again and he stood up really slow. I sent a round from my 450 Bushmaster through both lungs, and he expired 100 yds later near my grandpa’s garden. Grandpa watch the whole thing from his front porch. My best buck to date.
