I first saw this guy (after arriving home from work too late to go out, watching from my house), making a scrape on the edge of our food plot on 10/18/2024. He immediately became my target buck. I hunted the stand nearest where I saw him on Saturday morning, afternoon and Sunday afternoon. He finally came across the trail cam late Sunday night. I had a slow day at work Monday so I was able to leave early and get out to the stand. I watched 5 does and a button buck graze in the field for a few minutes before a young buck run in, chasing one of the does into the woods. Within a few minutes, I heard this guy crashing through the woods, breaking twigs along the way. He stepped out, following the wood line, heading towards the scrape I watched him make 3 days earlier. After about 10 yds, he stopped, looked into the field, spotting the other deer that were still out there. He bolted across the field. I quickly adjusted myself in the direction he was heading, thinking there’s no way he’s stopping. Well, lucky for me, he must’ve seen my movement and came to a dead stop, staring directly at me. I knew if I was going to take the shot, I had to be quick cuz he wasn’t gonna hangout for long. Let’s just say I had a pretty sweet ending to my story! #buckofalifetime
