I have wanted to go hunting since I was little but had no one to take me deer hunting. So this year I told my husband all I wanted for Christmas was to go deer hunting with him (he is not a hunter but is very much supportive). So, we visited his parents 30 acres in Lapeer County in hopes we would have an opportunity to at least see some deer. We had seen glimpses of the buck on the two days preceding our final day od hunting. On Sunday morning, under a full moon, my husband walked me out to my little natural deer blind gave me a kiss on the forehead and told me good luck! It was a quiet, sunny, morning with a cold north wind blowing right in my face. A doe starts walked right towards me. She zig zags down the trail and my heart was pounding. I thought, “just be patient, I bet the buck will be following her”. Sure enough, there he was. The doe however. Was on to me. She stomped, snorted and bolted. The buck, being a little bit under the influence of the rut was slower to react. He turned broadside and I shot him at about 35 yards with the 450 bush master. He is a beauty and I sure enjoyed the pursuit.
