He came up with a bunch of does and shot him at 105 yards. Decided to track about 30 minutes later and accidentally rustled him out of his bedding spot in tall grass. We called it a night and came back in the morning. We followed the blood trail to the nearby river and in the distance, I could see something in the river but was unsure of what it was. I asked the person I was with “is that the buck?” We just shrugged it off and assumed it was a rock. As we followed the blood trail along the river, we could see it was actually the buck I shot. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
