After moving to Indiana three years ago I missed the old michigan woods, my father purchased a old pop up and we decided to purchase out of state licenses and head north once again.
We arrived at camp about noon on the 14th. Went out hung my stand.
The next morning I went out to my stand an put for estrus on my boots got into the stand about 5:45 sat in the dark and cold all day and got a little disappointed being I didn’t see one deer…
After eating a good lunch, food credits to my father Todd, I went back to the woods with a full stomach and sat till about 4 and was thinking about getting down.
After watching the cattails and thrilling they where deer antlers moving I looked back tords where I walked into the woods and there he was about 300 yards away at the base of a hill.
I hit me doe bleat twice and he came running full sprint with his knows down, I got buck fever quickly.
Shaking and trying not to move as the bucks at about 5 yards, I raised my bolt action marlin 512 up and fired. He dropped about 20 yards from the stand. My first buck and my first buck on public land! #mibuckpole#firstbuck#bucksasbigasbuicks#publiclanddeerhunting
