I got out after school around 3:30 and was walking to my spot when I saw a doe about 80 yards away. I crouched down and watched her for about 5 minutes. My wind swirled and a spike and this guy caught my scent about 30 yards and took off toward the swamp. This guy stood on the edge of the swamp not knowing what happened and then nice he walked into the swamp, I hit my grunt call and started brushing back leaves. He came back out, ears tucked back and made a scrape and ripped apart some trees. He started to get nervous when the doe saw me moving and gave me a tiny gap to let one down range. Thought I missed as he didn’t jump and ran of into the swamp. Went and looked for blood after dark and found none. Walking back to the truck, I caught a glimpse of a white belly and there he laid. Ran 20 yards and fell over.
