Well it happens to all of us at some point or another. This morning it happened to me. I had a 6 and 7pt come in. 6 pt at 5 yards and 7 was at 15 yards. I pulled back and got busted. I rushed the shot and instantly knew I messed up. He was hit way way back. GUT SHOT. I stayed in the tree for a while and snuck out as quietly as possible. I did not look for blood at all. We gave the deer 7-8hrs. We went back and let Fletcher attack the track. He did very well. This was his first recovery. Deer ran about 400 yards with 1 wound bed.
