Every year my dad takes me out hunting with hopes of getting a big buck, this year it happened. We didn’t see anything all morning and then I hear what I think is just another squirrel. To my surprise a nice buck walking by. I made two grunts and he is now headed my way. I move my crossbow into position and patiently wait for him to clear the brush. When I can see his head in my scope my adrenaline kicks in and I feel my heart was pounding so loud I thought the deer would hear it. I focus on breathing slow just like I had practiced and then as his body came into view I line up my sight and wait for him to stop moving. Once he stopped I double check the shooting lane make sure I am at the right yard mark and as I like to say I smoked him. It was an awesome experience, just my dad and I in a tree stand having fun and making memories.
