My dad and I walked out to one of our spots that we usually don’t sit at. The wind wasn’t too great and was sort of blowing us into the field across from us. Neither of us really expected to have time to hunt so we were just happy to get out. After a little while, I was half asleep and we only had about a half hour of light left. My dad started rattling just to see if we’d stir anything up because it was almost 80 and hot that day. After a couple minutes a huge 6 we named “V6” walked in from the woods on my side, I nudged my dad and we both started to get excited immediately. My dad knew it was a hard shot and told me to take a deep breath. I got my crossbow ready and waited for him to stop. My dad took off the safety and I had the perfect shot. I hit him right in the heart. He only went about thirty yards. This is my first deer!
