Went into a new piece of public as deep as I could get only to be surrounded by tree stands directly off the easy way to walk in. Playing the wind and seeing what terrain I had to work with I dove a bit deeper into what I thought was a bedding area of this nasty pickers and young trees. Managed to bring my climber up a whopping 10’ to the only shot opportunity I could have to the trail I setup near. Around 6 pm I threw a snort wheez and grunt call sequence out and this guy stormed into my only shot @ 5 yards.. head on he busted me as I was only a few feet above him, I read his body posture as he was about to bolt he turned his front half 90 degrees and I threw a arrow oof my compound threw a little brush and drilled him getting heart lung and exit liver. 60 yards he piled up. Nothing will make you realize your out of shape like dragging a deer solo thru 1.83 miles of swamp.
