Had this buck coming in regularly. I had him at 84yrd the Thursday before rifle but was out of range. I had seen him with a hot doe on Thursday and WATCHED him make a scrape and urinate in it. I knew he’d be back and was already a day time buck. I hunted this Buck the morning of the opening rifle but no joy. My wife’s should has been really bad / Painful so she hasn’t been out much this hunting season. I knew after these 3 days at our lease she’d probably be done for the season. We have 13 blinds and for the evening hunting my wife was winching while putting on her jacket and back pack she ask me where to go. I look at her and said got my Big Box. She looked at me and said are your sure.. I said goto my box.. At 5:12 I heard the shot.. Packed up my gear and lit a cigarette.. at 5:15 the text came.. Buck Down.. She learned later that night during the celebrating.. it’s BBD.. it cost her 1 shot of Crown Royal per letter.. She dropped him in place on the scrape at 110yrds.. She had put in more time setting up the property / blinds etc. over the last 6yrs then most of us do.. It was her time.. Grats Rosey!
