I been hunting my whole life, but the past year or two I’ve been really getting after it. Scouting throughout the year and spending 100+ hours in the stands. It has been a grueling season, with not many deer and been holding out on does since October 1st. This guy came in from my 3 o clock as I was sitting one of my blinds. I rose up, he quartered toward me at the last second, buried the arrow in his shoulder and exited a little low. Arrow went right through and stuck into the tree behind him. I was at the cabin by myself and it was getting dark quick and didn’t pick up on blood. Instead of getting lost in the woods in the dark without service or anyone to assist, I decided to go back in the morning. Tracked him for almost 2 hours with little blood and ended up finding him 100 yards or so away. Again, I was at the cabin by myself, first ever long track by myself, and man does it feel good to take an old buck on public land after all that effort. He’s not the biggest or widest rack but he gone eat! Back after it in the morning! #public
