Long story short, with this cold front that moved in and the second rut in swing I knew I had to be in the stand. He was sparring a 2.5 old 8 pointer 80 yards from me while I had about 10-15 other deer in the CRP field in front of me. The 8 pointer ran off and he started to chase the doe. Lo and behold, he came within 40 yards. He was downwind of me and knew something was not right. We locked eyes for 10 seconds until he looked away and was able to draw my bow . That’s when I let the V3 eat. No better feeling than getting it done with a bow during the gun season. Tagged out for the 2021 season, good luck to everyone still chasing!
