I had been in the tree stand many times through the month of October for the night hunt, but hadn’t been able to connect. I was finally able to sit out for the morning on Halloween. Shortly after daylight a doe came through, but didn’t give me a shot. I texted my husband saying maybe a buck will be coming next, sure enough moments later I heard some grunting in the distance and then the 7 point I had missed earlier in the season came running through chasing the doe, unfortunately he was out of range. About a half hour went by when all of a sudden this buck came running out of the woods straight towards my tree stand and where I had a scent bomb hanging, he stopped for a brief second about 20 yards from my ladder and the rest is history!
