With a NW wind that evening I headed to the corner where my scent would funnel into the neighbors yard. I had a real good feeling about that evening but was questioning my location. I texted my dad asking what he thought of another stand nearby but before he could respond a doe stepped out and i knew it was too late. I got settled in and watched her about 120 yards out. Shortly after i seen a tall 4 or 6 point scoot by on the other neighbors and knew where he was headed but couldn’t see him past the cedar row. Heard all sorts of ruckus and thought he may be scraping or rubbing until this guy stepped out still about 120 yards out. I hit the deepest grunt i could hoping he heard me over the wind. Low and behold he did. He came in quick to about 20 yards and stood for what seemed like forever staring right at my tree. Finally he turned broadside and I let it fly. He ran about 200 yards and went down directly under the stand I had considered moving to. I’m glad I syayed put.
