Was sitting under a pine tree and could see a scrape on a maple sapling 5 yards from where I sat. Around 2:30pm two does appeared in front of me. This got by adrenaline pumping and I racked off 3 shots at the biggest one, but missed because of my adrenaline! I decided to sit back down and wait til dark to see if by some miracle, they’d double back. Instead, at 4:50pm, this 8pt monster showed up! I aimed, took a deep breath, and squeezed the trigger for what seemed like an eternity! The shot rang out, and the deer jumped & kicked his rear legs backwards, so I knew I got him! A short walk following a pool of blood lead me to his expired body at the base of a birch tree. 8 points 12 3/4 ” spread from inside main beans, 3 3/4″ spread between brow tines, and 9″ tines! Don’t know how to score, but I’ll keep it!
