Sept 12, 2020 Newaygo deer hunt
I was invited by a buddy to hunt on his property in Newaygo Mi during the liberty hunt weekend, we got out to the blind just before 6 am and about a half hour later he and his cousin who was in the blind with us could see some deer moving in the field, it was just a little too dark for me to see them yet but it wasn’t long and I was seeing what they were seeing, first 2 then 4, before long we had 10-12 deer in the field! A few doe and some smaller bucks and then my 8 stepped out in view followed a few minutes later by another 8 which we thought was a 6 point at first, and the best part is after a couple minutes they started sparring, we watched them for almost 45 minutes until they finally separated from each other and my buck gave me a broadside shot, he was 130 yards away, one shot and he ran about 30 yards before piling over, i was excited beyond words because that is my second 8 point and my first buck in Newaygo County (I usually only see does when I hunt up there) & it was proof again to me that God answers prayers and im very thankful that even from my wheelchair God allows me opportunities like these! My advice is this, never let a situation that some may call “bad” define you because even those situations can be a blessing! And let God lead you and you’ll be amazed at what you can do
