It was my favorite hunt of the season so far because my brother in law Josh and I were finally able to get out together with our busy schedules and distance making it a bit more difficult than seasons past. So my father, bro and I were able to hunt a beautiful super frosty November morning together which just makes for good memories regardless of the outcome. After much deer activity throughout the morning, we were about to pack up when I noticed a doe moving her way to the south of me, so I radioed Dad and Josh to hold on a moment. This is where things get hectic in a hurry. I’m standing up in my stand, facing south watching this doe when all of a sudden Josh yells through the radio – I can’t remember verbatim but basically BUCK coming up from the north!!! I quickly turn around to see this 8 point literally trotting straight towards my stand – all i have time to do is grab my bow – bleat him to a stop estimate a quick range and let err fly. Arrow hit high which put him down but kicking, so I quickly climbed down and put another arrow in the rib cage which put him out for good! From the time to Josh yelling through the radio to me shooting the buck was probably less than 60 seconds. Had he not radioed me – I would have never gotten a chance. Thank you Lord for communication and the opportunity to arrow a beautiful deer with the best hunting pals a guy could ask for.
