Almost got a shot at this 8 point opening morning. He stopped behind some brush broadside 35 yards away. When he came into the small opening before a big section of pine trees he turned and walked straight away from me. That evening hunted the same shack, about an hour before dark I looked out the west window and he was really close, looking up at me in the shack. He turned and slowly walked back into the pines. 30 minutes later I looked out the other window and he was just out of the pines at 60 yards standing broadside. I put a good shot on him with a H&R 20 gauge. Couldn’t of asked for a better scenario. My first deer!
