I harvested this buck on a island in Lake Huron that I’ve hunted for about five years now. This was my first deer taken off the island and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was opening day of bow season and from my blind I can hear the waves crashing on the beach and the fog horn in the straits. It was about 15 minutes after first light and he came into my salt lick. A few quick seconds later I let the arrow fly and the rest is history.
