I first saw this guy on the hoof the evening of gun opener and then again the following morning with this deer crossing open field on the neighbors property, where I could not shoot. After a grind of an archery season and only 1 other encounter with a shooter that didn’t end with meat in the freezer, I had hope for 1 more opportunity. I saw movement shortly after getting in the blind in the afternoon and there he was bedded 215 yds away in the thick brush. I could only see his eye and his rack. 10 heart pounding min later, a hot doe came running through with 2 more bucks behind her and he moved 2 steps forward into the open. Thankfully, I was able to maintain composure and the 450 dropped him in his tracks. Biggest buck to date. Feeling so blessed and thankful!
