Hadn’t had any luck in my normal stand so I decided to try a spot no one had been in for a while. He walked into a small clearing about 40 yds to my left. Watched him for a couple minutes sizing him un to make sure he was a shooter. Flipped off the safety, pulled the trigger and heard a loud CLICK, so did he. He fixed on my location but didn’t move, I was able to, very slowly, re-rack my bolt, never taking my eyes off him and him off of mine. As I reset for my shot, he took one step, turning perfectly broadside to me, I fired, he went about 30 yds and piled up. As he started to run, I was worried because the stand I was in is only about 100 yds for a road and thats where he was headed. Luckily, he didn’t make it that far.
