locked my keys in my truck before heading out hunting. Took over an hour to get them out. Decided I was still going hunting with an hour and a half left of light and Still had to walk out to my spot. As im halfway to the back part of the property there were 4 does working through, I had to stand still for 20 minutes to let them walk through without spooking them. Finally get to the back of the property, didnt really know where I wanted to sit exactly. Decided on a brush pile off to the right. Got settled in with 40 minutes left of light and It Was a slow night until 5:40pm. With 12 minutes left of light I made 3 loud grunt calls and not long after that he came in running right up to 25 yards hard quartered to me. I waited for a better broadside shot but he was catching my scent from the trail i walked up. So I took a hard quartered to shot. He didn’t go 60yrds, piled right up!! I Dedicated this season for a mature buck, passed up many big does, had a shot on a big buck in October, he survived. Then 11/10/25 got it done finally, with a story to remember!!! My First Buck As Well I Couldn’t Be Happier, old 7 point with a lot of mass!!
