We had just a few pictures of this buck in the Summer of 2022 with the last being on August 8th 2022 and then the buck disappeared. We haven’t had a single picture or sighting since then until the afternoon that I shot him. I was able to find one of his sheds in the Spring of 2023 to confirm that he had made it through. I had been hunting hard for another buck all year and mistaked this buck for that one when he stepped out as they look very similar from the side. The shot was 124 yards and hit it’s mark. This buck was not even on my radar this year because of the lack of sightings or pictures so it was quite a surprise when we walked up on him laying 100 yards from where I had shot him. I knew right away then once we walked up on him what buck it was and I couldn’t have been happier!
