“Took my 243 out to sit in a blind with my dad. Didn’t see anything in the morning so we went back out yesterday afternoon. Seen a doe and fawn walk out followed by another fawn a few minutes later. I was watching them when my dad elbowed me and said “big buck”. I shot him. We thought it was a perfect shot. He mule kicked and ran into the thick swamp. We didn’t find any blood but I was confident I hit him and my dad helped get me a tracking dog in and she found him within 20 minutes. Died 150 yards in. It’s bigger than my dad’s big buck.”
