Decided to get down from my stand at about 9:30am. Gun was already down on the string. I was just a few steps down the sticks when I saw a few doe and small bucks heading my way from a nearby field. Reached over to the rope, pulled the gun back up to me and watched as they went by at 40 yards. Took a quick look behind them toward the field and saw this guy on the same path. Took a 40 yard shot from my climbing sticks and the Remington 870 12ga made quick work of him.
