Information

  • Date Taken: 10/02/2013
  • Time Of Day: Evening
  • Method: Compound Bow
  • County: Kalamazoo County
  • Property: Private
  • Dressed Weight: Well i got rushed to my property after i got out of work. i got into my stand around 4pm, a little late. after sitting for 3 and a half hours and seeing nothing but a doe and a fawn way out in the bean field. I decided to pack my stuff up and head out because it was getting to dark to see my sights. as i leaned over to grab my backpack i seen this deer walking through the woods. i hurried up and grabbed my bow and drew back because there was only one narrow shooting lane that i had. as soon as he stepped into the lane i let the arrow fly. at 40 yards i hit him. I was shaking so bad because this was the first deer that i had ever been able to get into shooting range with my bow. Hes not the biggest but i am proud of it. i called my dad and he came out with my two little brothers to help me track it. It took us an hour and a half to track him. he doubled back a few times and ended up running about 400 yards. one of my little brothers is the one who spotted my first bow kill and i was pumped!! i couldnt be happier for my first bow kill ever! great way to start the deer season!
