First turkey! Opening day 2nd season, 7:50 am. My first spring season hunt. I got into turkey hunting last fall trying it solo, and went out with a veteran hunter this spring to learn how to bag a bird.

We got out in the morning and checked out a few spots for activity before setting up in the field, tucked between some small pine trees in the middle. Took maybe 15-20 mins before hearing the far away gobbles and they started coming in. Craig did an awesome job of calling a Tom in, from the far pines on the edge of the field, then two more joined. They came at more of an angle than we were expecting so I couldn’t see the bird until I actually took my shot! Craig had to push me out more from the pines so I wouldn’t miss my opportunity 😂

This was so much fun! I think I’m hooked! Thanks again to Craig for showing me the ropes and bringing them in!
