It was a nice sunny day so I asked my girlfriend, who’s 20 weeks pregnant, if she wanted to go sit with me. After stopping to get the loudest snacks possible we were off to the woods. We got in the blind about three o’clock. By 3:15 the snacks started flying. Twizzlers very well could be the loudest snack ever. But the deer didn’t seem to mind as we had deer around us as soon as we sat down. About 4:15 I spotted this buck headed our way through the thicket. He had 5 does with him and they all worked their way right to us in the open except him. He stayed back in the thicket for about a half hour. Then two smaller bucks started fighting and it was enough to draw him out. He presented himself at 40 yards when I took the shot. It’s a hunt I’ll never forget. Especially since I got to share it with momma and our little boy. It’s safe to say he’s already daddy’s little hunting buddy!
