After hunting all bow and gun season, we decided to try a deer drive in the afternoon of the last day of the muzzleloader season.. this buck came out of the woods at just shy of 400 yards but I passed on the perfect shot because I felt the distance was to far and risky of injuring the deer. After 10 minutes the buck presented himself on the other side of the fence row that I was sitting in amongst 25-30 other does that seemed to be closer than the prior opportunity…. once the shot became available I aimed high and spine shot the deer dropping him in his tracks. After the shot I range the distance to 300 yards and am beyond happy with the harvest this year and time spent outdoors with my boys.
